Shawna Buker, a Toronto-born jewelry artist, blends creativity and sophistication into every piece she designs. Her journey into jewelry design began in her childhood, inspired by her grandfather, who became a craftsman in square wire jewelry making during his retirement.
Shawna was captivated as she watched him facet his own stones and meticulously transform single strands of gold wire into complex, beautiful sculptures. This early exposure ignited her passion for gemstones and design, ultimately shaping her career as a jeweler.
With a Fine Arts Degree from OCAD University and a postgraduate teaching degree, Shawna’s artistic background is extensive. Though she initially focused on fine art and teaching, her career naturally evolved toward jewelry design, where she found her true calling. Her distinctive approach, combining technical expertise with artistic vision, allows her to seamlessly merge the principles of fine art with jewelry craftsmanship.
